Mike carries on a general practice with a focus on Family
Law, Criminal Law and Civil Litigation, as well as Real Estate
and Estate Planning. Mike has a particular interest in
Criminal Law and strongly believes that everyone charged with an
offence has the right to a defence. Mike hit the ground running
as a young lawyer in South East Saskatchewan and in his first
year of practice he successfully defended an individual charged
with two counts of Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
Mike's areas of interest keep him busy representing many clients
throughout South East Saskatchewan.
Mike began working as a Student-at-Law at NSWB in May of 2007. Mike grew up southeast of Weyburn, in Midale, and is a graduate of Midale Central School. After high school, he attended the University of Regina as a UR Scholar. Mike completed the 3 years towards his B.A. in Political Science before being accepted to the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law, where he obtained his LL.B. Since
being admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar, Mike has personally
represented individuals in Saskatchewan’s Provincial Court,
Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal.
Mike and his wife, Cara, have two daughters, Teresa and Meaghan
and they reside in Weyburn. Mike enjoys watching and playing sports, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
Mike is also active in the community as a member of the Weyburn
Kin Club, President of the South Saskatchewan Chapter of the
Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a member of the
Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (SYPE),
President of the Southeast Saskatchewan Bar Association, and
District Governor for the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers
Association.
